In a striking display of desperation, a man stripped himselfnaked during a hunger protest at Ojota, Lagos, on Thursday, drawing attention to the escalating issues of food insecurity and economic hardship faced by many Nigerians.

The protest, organised by a coalition of activists advocating government's intervention in the ongoing food crisis, saw hundreds gather to voice their frustrations.

Eyewitnesses reported that the man, whose identity remains unknown, stood defiantly in the centre of the crowd, as other protesters held a placard that read, "We are starving!"

His bold act of nudity was intended to symbolise the vulnerability and helplessness felt by those struggling to afford basic necessities.

The protestors chanted slogans demanding immediate action from the government to address rising food prices and improve access to essential resources.

The atmosphere was charged as speakers took turns sharing personal stories of hardship, highlighting the impact of inflation and poor economic policies on everyday life.

Many expressed their anger over the government's inaction, calling for accountability and urgent reforms.
Police and other local authorities are monitoring the situation closely and ensuring the protest remains peaceful.

However, the dramatic act of nudity sparked mixed reactions from onlookers, with some praising the man for his courage while others criticised the method of protest as excessive.

As the protest continued, organisers emphasised the need for a united front to advocate for change.

"We cannot remain silent while our people suffer," one activist declared. "This protest is just the beginning; we will not stop until our voices are heard."

EconomThe stark imagery of the naked protester served as a powerful reminder of the urgent need for action in the face of growing hunger and economic despair in Nigeria.
