House of Ga'a, a Netflix original film, is ranked eighth on Netflix's Global Top 10 Chart for Non-English Films after receiving over 3 million watch hours and 1.6 million views since its premiere.
While the biopic remained at number one on the Nigerian Top 10 Chart, it jumped from seventh to eighth on the Global Chart in the second week of release, with over 1.6 million views.
Set in the 18th century Oyo Empire, House of Ga'a portrays the fascinating story of Ga'a, a power-hungry political figure who launches a horrific betrayal of a succession of rulers. The vicious leader, bent for vengeance, rises to the top, stopping at nothing to surpass the kings he serves.
Though based on Yoruba culture, the film's appeal is across cultural borders. House of Ga'a has been lauded for its gripping plot and fascinating dialogue that appeal to both Yoruba and non-Yoruba speakers, keeping spectators interested from beginning to end.
