The Katsina State Hisbah Board has prohibited all nightclub operations throughout the state, referencing Islamic tenets and the necessity to uphold moral integrity.
The Hisbah commander-general, Dr. Aminu Usman (Abu Ammar) made this announcement in a statement released in Katsina on Wednesday.
He emphasized that club owners must close their venues to mitigate immoral activities, safeguard societal values, and address security issues in the state.
“The board cautioned that those who defy this order will face severe repercussions. Security agencies have been directed to guarantee complete adherence to the order.
“We are dedicated to fostering a morally sound community and maintaining peace and security in Katsina state,” Usman noted.
He confirmed that the board had briefed relevant security agencies, including the state commissioner for internal security, to effectively implement the directive.
“This action is part of Hisbah’s wider initiatives to ensure that residents live in accordance with religious and moral principles,” he added.
