Nollywood Actress, Hilda Dokubo, a ward representative for the Labour Party (LP) in Asari Toru Local Government Area (LGA) of Rivers State has angrily denied ever having her membership in the party suspended.
Dokubo, who is also the LP chairwoman in Rivers, was suspended on Thursday after the party's ward executive committee had an emergency meeting on July 15. The news has put her in the centre of a storm of controversy.
The veteran actress was charged with a long list of serious offences, including financial misbehaviour, misuse of position, and egregious violations of party rules.
However, in a defiant and impassioned video released on Instagram, Dokubo attacked the reports, claiming that she was never suspended from the Labour Party.
Dokubo asserted that the people named in the alleged suspension letter were all members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) intent on ruining her reputation.
She detailed activities conducted against her, claiming she had been pressured, threatened, and even bribed, but thise accusations were simply a fresh, malicious strategy to bring her down.
Dokubo recounted the continuous attempts to undermine her position and integrity.
She painted a vivid picture of political subterfuge and personal vendetta, where foes from the PDP, estranged members of Labour party, orchestrated a campaign of deceit to tarnish her image and force her out of the political arena.
