Suspected gunmen have murdered a naval rating in Lagos.
The Naval rating, O.S Harrison was reportedly shot in the early hours of Monday at Ajegunle, Ajeromi-Ifelodun LGA of Lagos.
Residents of the area are in a panic state as officers of the Navy are threatening to comb the area in retaliation for killing one of them.
It was reported that the murdered naval rating was on his own when he was shot.
The Nigerian Navy has warned the officers in the area not to take laws into their hands.
Confirming the news, Lagos State police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin called for calm.
Assuring the public of the police intervention, Hundeyin added that one person in connection to the crime has been arrested.
He also confirmed that the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Nigerian Navy hospital morgue in Ojo.
