Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has assured businesses of increased support in 2024. The governor made this announcement during the 72-hour #Greater Lagos Fiesta and New Year countdown at Sol Beach Oniru.

The event, held simultaneously in six locations across the state, featured the Niger State Governor, Umar Mohammed Bago, as the Special Guest, alongside members of the State Executive Council (SEC) and lawmakers at both the state and federal levels.

Expressing his excitement about the prevailing peace in the state, Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that the festivities were possible due to the peaceful atmosphere. The locations for the countdown included Sol Beach Oniru, Agege, Epe, Ikorodu, Badagry, and Ajegunle.

The governor noted that the annual tradition of the #Greater Lagos Fiesta is a celebration of music, entertainment, and the vibrant spirit of Lagos, while also highlighting its significance in supporting and appreciating residents, culture, tourism, and youth development.

Accompanied by Deputy Governor Dr. Kadri Ọbafẹmi Hamzat and other state executive council members, Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed optimism for a glorious and better 2024, emphasizing career growth and positive developments for the state.

Comedians and music artists entertained the audience before and after the governor's speech, adding to the lively atmosphere of the 72-hour non-stop entertainment. The countdown to the New Year featured a chorus countdown led by Governor Sanwo-Olu, and at the stroke of midnight, residents enjoyed a spectacular fireworks display.

The event featured over 25 artists and comedians, including popular figures like Innocent Idibia (Tubaba), David Adeleke (Davido), and Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe (Kiss Daniel). The enthusiastic crowd lingered even after the performances, savoring the celebratory ambiance as one of the DJs played popular Afrobeat songs.
