Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has responded to the train and BRT bus collision that happened in the Ikeja neighborhood of Lagos State.
Two persons have been confirmed dead, and many casualties were recorded as a moving train crashed into a Lagos State Government bus known as BRT at the PWD bus stop in the Ikeja area of the state on Thursday morning.
Reacting on his Twitter page, Sanwo-Olu expressed sadness over the incident.
He wrote, "I am extremely grieved by the news of the train/bus disaster, the author stated. Our employees, who work for the Lagos State Government in various capacities, were being transported in the vehicle. Let's pray for the families as well as for kindness and defense for our nation.
"At this trying time, my thoughts are with the victims and their families. Many thanks to the well-intentioned Lagosians who jumped into the rescue operation immediately.
”Our first responders and emergency services are on ground and we will share more information shortly.”
