Alphabet-owned Google is set to lay off over 100 employees from various teams within its cloud division, as reported by CNBC on Monday.
The positions being cut include roles in sales, operations, engineering, consulting, and "go to market" strategy, according to Reuters, which cited internal correspondence.
In response to the layoffs, a Google spokesperson stated, "We are continuously adapting our business to align with our customers' needs and the significant opportunities ahead. We remain dedicated to investing in areas crucial to our success in the long term."
This news follows previous layoffs by the California-based tech company in April and January, as part of its efforts to manage costs amidst economic uncertainty in the tech and media industry.
