Senator Godswill Akpabio, a former governor of Akwa-Ibom State, paid a visit to Nigerian chef Hilda Bassey Effiong, also known as Hilda Baci, on Monday. Hilda set the record for the longest cooking time.
On Monday at 7:45 a.m., Hilda smashed the previous record set by Indian chef Lata Tondon.
Godswill Akpabio met with Hilda at the location, Amore Gardens, in Lekki, Lagos State, not long after she set the record.
He encouraged her and vowed to honor the 27-year-old resident of Akwa Ibom State.
"I was this morning accompanied by my colleagues Senators-elect, on a solidarity visit to an Akwa Ibom youngster, Hilda Baci, who is set to shatter the Guinness Book of Records as the Chef with the longest cooking duration in the world," he posted on Twitter.
"I sincerely hope she succeeds, and I swear to honor her at the conclusion of the competition. I appreciate her showing the Akwa Ibom child's can-do attitude. ALMOST ALWAYS FORWARD, BACKWARD NEVER."
