Giants Deny Dodgers 100Th Win Of The Season

Rookie Tristan Beck has led the San Francisco Giants to a hard-fought 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers, denying the Dodgers their 100th win of the season. Beck, making just his third major league start, showcased his skills by limiting the formidable Dodgers lineup to one run and six hits over five innings. He received crucial support from Tyler Fitzgerald, who homered in the third inning to open the scoring. Clayton Kershaw, in his final start before the playoffs, took the mound for the Dodgers but found himself in a tight battle with Beck. Kershaw allowed only two runs and five hits while walking two and striking out five in 5 1/3 innings. However, the veteran left-hander's inning-opening walks in the sixth inning proved costly. His inability to secure a double play opportunity allowed the Giants to score the go-ahead run on a Max Muncy error.
