The Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, has expressed his admiration for Governor Dapo Abiodun's ambitious project, the Gateway International Agro Cargo and Passenger Airport. Gbajabiamila believes that this airport will soon become a major transportation hub for the South-Western states.
He commended Governor Abiodun for his determination to push forward with the airport project, despite the challenges faced by other governors in their efforts to build world-class airports.
Speaking to reporters at the airport after attending the commissioning of the Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona School of Governance Studies and the presentation of a book titled “Reinventing Governance in Nigeria: The Oba (Dr) Sikiru Kayode Adetona Model” at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Gbajabiamila emphasized the transformative impact of the airport on air transportation in the region and across Nigeria.
The former Speaker of the House of Representatives also praised Governor Abiodun for his commitment to the airport project, highlighting its potential to enhance the economy of Ogun State.
He emphasized that the airport would not only boost the state's economy but also benefit neighboring states and the country as a whole, ultimately improving the ease of doing business in the region.
Reflecting on his experience in the National Assembly, Gbajabiamila recalled the struggles of several South-Western states in attempting to build airports of comparable size, making Governor Abiodun's achievement all the more commendable.
He was pleasantly surprised by the airport's interior, emphasizing that it exceeded his expectations.
