German Football Legend, Andreas Brehme Dies At 63

German football legend, Andreas Brehme, dies at the age of 63.

Brehme, whose decisive penalty won the 1990 World Cup for West Germany against Argentina, breathed his last overnight into Tuesday.

Brehme's former club, FC Bayern München announced his death. Taking to Twitter, the club expressed their grief and deep connection to the deceased footballer.

FC Bayern Announced Andreas Brehme's Death

“FC Bayern is deeply shocked by the sudden death of Andreas Brehme.

“The German record champion is united in mourning with his relatives and friends.

"We will always keep Andreas Brehme in our hearts.

As a world champion and even more so as a very special person.

“He will always be part of the FC Bayern family. Rest in peace, dear Andi!,”

The heartfelt message went on to solidify Brehme's place in the club's legacy:

"He will always be part of the FC Bayern family. Rest in peace, dear Andi!"

Brehme's impact transcended his iconic penalty kick. He was a renowned left-back, known for his powerful set-piece skills and leadership on the field.
