Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has gifted food items to the people of Shomolu, Yaba, and Mushin in Lagos State as part of her community outreach programmes.
The actress, who is promoting her next movie, 'Everybody Loves Jenifa,' rushed to Instagram to share a video of the charity efforts.
She wrote: "Jenifa's happiness is infectious! distributing food, joy, and love around our neighborhood, planting seeds of kindness throughout Lagos State's various local government districts. Yaba, Mushin, and Shomolu are the first stops."
Both colleagues and admirers have praised Akindele's gesture widely.
Itele, Debbie Shokoya, Phyna, Jide Awobona, Paschaline Alex, Ngozi Nwosu, and Omowunmi Dada were among the notable names in the entertainment world who offered words of encouragement and blessings.
Additionally referencing to Funke's philanthropic deeds, Bukola Iyabo Osadare, the late Nollywood actress and makeup artiste's sister, spoke about Funke Akindele's good deeds.
She said: "Funke Akindele paid over N8 million for my sister’s first operation and over N8 million for the second operation. When my sister was ill, Funke told us to go somewhere in Ikeja to pick up medications worth N500-600k every week.
"She also sponsored my late sister to the UK for treatment and even got my passport for me and said I should accompany my sister to the UK because of her operation. Funke Akindele is a good person, she is the one who made my late sister live for seven years before her death.
"My sister was just a makeup artist to her. When my sister died, Funke and Ronke Oshodi Oke were the first people to reach the hospital. Even after my sister’s death, Funke still spent money.”
