Long lines have returned to most petrol stations in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, three days after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared the suspension of the fuel subsidy scheme.
Some petrol stations witnessed panic buying by vehicle owners who were seen hastily scurrying for open slots.
Despite the Osun State Government's caution to marketers not to hoard Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, this is still happening.
The government stated that it had reliable evidence that certain petroleum markers intended to stockpile the commodity, adding that such behavior was both disloyal and an act of sabotage.
Additionally, it insisted that the Special Monitoring Team on Fuel Scarcity was still functional and would not think twice about using its authority.
The discontinuation of the gasoline subsidy program was announced by President Tinubu on Monday during his inauguration.
According to Tinubu, the government must go because it can no longer be sustained in Nigeria at this time.
