Four alleged armed robbers who were dressed in uniforms of the military have been detained by the Edo State Police Command.
The accused allegedly attacked and robbed a woman in Benin of her money and other possessions, according to the public relations officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor.
After receiving a tip from the victim Grace Ainabe, whose home was raided, intelligence officials detained them.
Iyabo Victor, the group's 35-year-old leader, Osas Aganmwonyi, 28, Nosa Owie, 24, and Idi Etukudo are the suspects.
Armed with pistols and wearing military uniforms, they burst into the victim's home in the Teboga neighborhood and stole cash, cell phones, and jewelry.
Grace described how they broke into her home via the POP ceiling, stole the family's possessions, and made off with N447,000.
In order to gain access to her bank information, they took her phone and coercively stole her secret code number, according to Nwabuzor.
The authorities discovered that the suspects exchanged the money for foreign currency and split it following the transfer.
They were found to have an iPhone 13 worth N500,000, an iPhone 6 worth N48,000, and N850,000 worth of jewelry.
Among the additional items are a standing fan costing N95,000, an LG split air conditioner worth N360,000, a washing machine, an inverter battery, accessories, and gas cylinders.
