Former Tesla Employee Raises Concerns Over Car Safety

POSTED ON December 5, 2023 •   Uncategorized      BY Oluwakemi Ademuyiwa
In a shocking revelation, a former Tesla employee, Lucasz Krupski has come forward to express serious doubts about the safety of the technology powering the electric car company's self-driving vehicles. Krupski, who leaked crucial data, including customer complaints about Tesla's braking and self-driving software, made these startling claims during his first UK interview with the BBC. He who shared the sensitive information with the German newspaper Handelsblatt in May, alleges that his attempts to bring attention to these concerns internally were consistently ignored by Tesla management. Despite numerous requests for comment, Tesla has not responded to the allegations made by Krupski. Elon Musk, Tesla's enigmatic CEO, has been a vocal advocate for the company's self-driving technology. In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Musk declared, "Tesla has by far the best real-world AI." However, these confident assertions are now being called into question by Krupski's revelations. During the interview with BBC, Krupski emphasized his reservations about the artificial intelligence (AI) employed in Tesla's autopilot service, which includes features such as assisted steering and parking. Despite its name, the autopilot feature still requires a person in the driver's seat with their hands on the wheel. "I don't think the hardware is ready, and the software is ready," Krupski stated, expressing concerns about the experimental nature of Tesla's technology being tested on public roads. He added, "It affects all of us because we are essentially experiments on public roads. So even if you don't have a Tesla, your children still walk on the footpath." This revelation raises significant questions about the safety and readiness of Tesla's self-driving technology, prompting concerns about the potential risks it may pose to the general public. As the controversy unfolds, many are eagerly awaiting Tesla's response to these serious allegations.
