Former head designer at Rolls-Royce Ian Cameron was stabbed to death on the threshold of his £3 million mansion in Germany during a suspected heist.
Ian Cameron, 74, a vintage vehicle expert, was discovered dead at the entrance to his home in Bavaria on Friday evening, July 13.
Bild reports that a man approached and stabbed him.
The power cords to the CCTV cameras monitoring his high-value automobiles were severed, according to The Sun.
Police have launched a manhunt for Mr Cameron's murderer after his wife hopped over a wall to flee.
Verena Kloos was able to reach their neighbor's house and summon the police.
Mr Cameron, a historic automobile enthusiast, retired from Rolls-Royce in 2013 after 20 years of designing cars such as the 3 Series, Z8, Phantom, and Ghost.
Police described it as a 'violent crime' and claimed the perpetrator fled on foot from the home.
Search teams are reportedly employing dogs and a helicopter to locate him.
