Flynas, the leading low-cost carrier in Saudi Arabia, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus for the purchase of 75 A320neo family aircraft and 15 A330-900.
This strategic agreement aims to enhance the airline's fleet capabilities, expand its capacity, and improve its range.
The MoU was signed at the Farnborough International Airshow in the presence of Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) of Saudi Arabia, Ayed Al Jeaid, Chairman of the Board of NAS Holding, Bandar Almohanna, CEO & Managing Director of flynas, and Christian Scherer, CEO of Airbus Commercial Aircraft, as reported on Airbus's website.
These new aircraft will join flynas's existing all Airbus fleet, serving international, domestic, and regional routes. The A330-900 will feature a two-class configuration, accommodating up to 400 passengers.
Bander Almohanna, CEO and Managing Director of flynas, expressed excitement about strengthening the partnership with Airbus, highlighting the exceptional operational performance and environmental benefits of the A320neo Family.
He also emphasized the A330neo's advanced technology and efficiency in supporting the airline's growth plans and Saudi Arabia’s pilgrim program.
Christian Scherer, CEO of Airbus Commercial Aircraft, expressed delight in expanding the partnership with flynas through this significant milestone for both A320neo and A330-900 aircraft.
He emphasized the versatility and economics of both aircraft types in enabling flynas to expand into new markets while providing passengers with the latest cabin experience and comfort.
