Marikit Laurico, Floyd Mayweather’s longtime assistant, passed away at the age of 47.
According to The Sun’s reports, Marikit Laurico had recently visited Dubai and had been “feeling unwell” before she passed away.
They also cite accounts that suggest a heart attack might have been the cause of death, though this is not yet verified.
Laurico passed away on Friday, March 31, according to a statement her siblings and parents shared on her Instagram account on Sunday.
For the majority of his 25-year boxing career, Laurico Marikit worked together with the five-division world winner.
“On March 31, 2023, our brilliant star Kitchie gave up the physical garment… the angels of Thy loving-kindness successively descended upon her and have elevated her to the spiritual world,” it stated. We appreciate everyone who has shown her sincere affection and good vibes.
We appreciate your understanding and respect for our privacy. Kitchie’s funeral plans are currently being finalized, and any new information will be shared in accordance with that.
On social media, Mayweather’s daughter gave her father’s aide a heartfelt tribute.
This doesn’t feel genuine, it said. My spirit is in such pain. You were more like family, not just his assistant.
“You were the epitome of a kind person; you always uplifted others and gave them confidence in themselves. There is no one like you, and I will mourn you terribly.
Melissa Brim, Mayweather’s companion, also sympathizes with him over the death of Marikit by writing on Instagram: I just wanted to express how devastated I am right now.’You undoubtedly enriched both my life and the lives of my family members. Last weekend, we were just laughing and talking about how fortunate we were while seated ringside. I reflect on how much I will miss you.
“I will always treasure the memories I have of you!” All of your friends and acquaintances adored you, and I’m hoping for your family. You were my courtside, and picture buddy! God bless you and I adore you.
