Hadi Sirika, the minister of aviation, has said that the federal government will start charging helicopters using Nigerian airspace landing fees.
In the International Wing of the Port Harcourt International Airport, the capital of Rivers State, Sirika made this announcement as she introduced the most recent class of trained Helicopter Monitoring Officers.
The minister, who was represented by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria's (FAAN) Norris Anozie, Director of Human Resources, reaffirmed the Federal Government's commitment to enhancing the revenue collection of helicopter landing fees.
The Federal Government will entrust the Helicopter Monitoring Officers with the duty of collecting landing fees on their behalf.
