To commemorate Easter this year, the Federal Government has declared Friday, April 7, and Monday, April 10, 2023, to be public holidays.
Rauf Aregbesola, the interior minister, verified this in a statement that was issued in Abuja.
Christians were urged in a statement by the Permanent Secretary of the mission, Shuaib Begore, to model their lives after those exhibited by Jesus Christ during His earthly mission.
Aregbesola urged Christians to hope for an end to the country's security issues as they observe Easter.
He wished Christians at home and in the Diaspora a joyous and peaceful Easter festival and exhorted them to love their neighbors by performing deeds of kindness and showing generosity of spirit, with the wealthy sharing their possessions with those who are struggling.
