The Federal Government has designated Thursday, May 1, 2025, as a public holiday in honor of Workers’ Day.
Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced this on Tuesday in Abuja, highlighting the significance of peace in promoting industrialization and economic development in Nigeria.
In a statement issued by the ministry's Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani, the minister commended the commitment and sacrifices of workers, recognizing their contributions to the nation's advancement and the esteem Nigeria holds globally.
He underscored the dignity of labor, encouraging workers to adopt innovation and enhance productivity in their various fields.
The minister also urged workers to raise their standards to bolster governance and ensure fair distribution of the nation’s resources.
He reassured citizens of the administration's dedication to their safety and the security of everyone in the country.
Extending wishes for a joyful celebration to all workers, the minister encouraged the public to remain optimistic, stating that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is diligently working towards achieving its Renewed Hope Agenda.
