The federal government has given the green light to a salary increase ranging from 25% to 35% for civil servants in the remaining six consolidated salary structures.
According to a statement signed by Emmanuel Njoku, the Head of Press of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC), these increases will be effective from 1st January 2024.
Njoku also mentioned that the government has sanctioned an increase in pension ranging from 20% to 28% for pensioners on the Defined Benefits Scheme, pertaining to the aforementioned six consolidated salary structures, with effect from 1st January 2024.
The six consolidated salary structures are the Consolidated Public Service Salary Structure (CONPSS), Consolidated Research and Allied Institutions Salary Structure (CONRAISS), Consolidated Police Salary Structure (CONPOSS), Consolidated Para-military Salary Structure (CONPASS), and others.
