[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]According to the Presidency, President Muhammadu Buhari’s government significantly enhanced security in Nigeria.
Additionally, it claimed that Buhari was superior to former President Goodluck Jonathan in terms of security due to Nigeria’s Armed Forces moving up from seventh to fourth place in Africa.
This was revealed on Thursday in an interview with Channels Television by Femi Adesina, the President’s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity. He claimed that during the eight years of Buhari’s presidency, Nigeria became a safer place.
“Without Buhari’s intervention, Nigeria’s security situation would have gotten worse,” he claimed.
“According to ratings of combat readiness and equipment from 2014, Nigeria’s armed forces were ranked eighth in Africa. We are currently fourth because the President invested a lot in military equipment, training, and morale-boosting. Since there were only four or five functional aircraft in the nation in 2015, our efforts were fruitless. Do you realize the number of airplanes we have today, including the Super Tucano and other cutting-edge models?
“This administration has done well in terms of arming the military because if it had not, by now, Nigeria would have been overwhelmed by so many insecurity issues, banditry, insurgency, and terrorism.
Yes, it has succeeded because the alternative would have been worse. How many explosives detonate in Abuja each day as of 2015? Was it possible to attend church without being inspected? Without being subjected to a bomb detector, would you visit the recreation center? The recreation facilities were deserted.
“You witnessed the last Sallah a week ago; you witnessed durbar, horseback riding, and other celebrations, even in Borno.”
Meanwhile, since Buhari’s election as president in 2015, the level of insecurity in Nigeria has been a major source of worry. Nigerians have continued to die as a result of insecurity, from terrorism and banditry in the North to kidnapping and unidentified gunmen in the South.
