Fct Police Unveils Key Syndicate Members In Abuja Operation

POSTED ON February 5, 2024 •   Metro      BY Oluwakemi Ademuyiwa •   VIEWS 49

The police of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have revealed the key masterminds in the kidnapping spree happening in Abuja.

The revelation came following the arrest of a suspected kidnapper, Buhari Muhammad, and five other members of the syndicate in Abuja. The operation, culminating in the arrests, took place at a hotel in Bassa village in the nation's capital.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday.

The apprehended suspects include a wanted kidnapping kingpin, Muhammad Sabiu, along with Isah Abdullahi, Hamzat Musa, Fatima Abdullahi, and Zuliat Yusuf.

The case of the abduction of Joshua Eze, the husband of Blessing Eze was the nailing point for the notorious kidnapping syndicate as they became implicated in the process.

It is noteworthy that during the abduction, Blessing Eze had suffered a bullet injury in the process of her husband's kidnapping.

Although, the kidnappers had taken Joshua Eze on January 27, 2024, but the swift action of police operatives from the command's Anti-Kidnapping Unit contributed to his rescue; unharmed within 24 hours.

The Police Public Relations Officer confirmed that they conducted the arrests using dedicated operatives committed to combating criminal activities in the territory

The successful operation resulted in the recovery of significant evidence, including one AK-47 rifle, 10 mobile phones, a cash sum of N345,000, and various other valuables from the suspects. The FCT police have reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of residents through proactive measures and targeted anti-crime initiatives.

The operation of the kidnappers had gotten the nation in a state of limbo, could this arrest be a form of hope for Nigerians?
