Ayodele Fayose, the former governor of Ekiti State, Anyim Pius Anyim, the former president of the Senate and secretary to the government of the Federation (SGF), and other party members like Professor Dennis Ityavyar and Dr. Aslam Aliyu have all been placed on administrative leave by the Peoples Democratic Party due to suspected anti-party activities.
In addition, the party reported Samuel Ortom, the governor of Benue State, to its Disciplinary Committee for allegedly engaging in anti-party actions.
The suspension of the aforementioned party leaders is effective as of today, Thursday, March 23, 2023, according to a statement from the party that was signed and issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba.
It said, "PDP suspends Fayose, Anyim, and others and refers Ortom to the disciplinary committee."
The Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC) has referred Dr. Samuel Ortom, the governor of Benue State, to the National Disciplinary Committee over his alleged involvement in anti-party activities as a result of a thorough review of the Party's affairs in the nation and in accordance with the PDP Constitution's (as amended in 2017) provisions.
The suspension of the following from the Party with effect from today, Thursday, March 23, 2023, was also authorized by the NWC.

- Sen. Pius Anyim (Ebonyi State)
- Professor Dennis Ityavyar(Benue State)
- Dr. Aslam Aliyu (Zamfara State)
