PLATEAU, Nigeria - Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, and former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, have engaged in a heated exchange regarding the recent violence in the state and the visit by Israeli envoy Amb.
Michael Freeman. Fani-Kayode criticized Governor Mutfwang, labeling him a weak leader, while the governor accused FFK of misrepresenting the facts and tarnishing a well-meaning governance effort.
Fani-Kayode remarked that during Sen. Simon Lalong's tenure as governor, the violence was reduced because he grasped the dynamics of the terrorists and knew the necessary actions to take.
“He was also aware of the risks associated with collaborating with outsiders who prioritize division over unity,” he stated.
In a statement released to Blueprint on Wednesday in Abuja, which he particularly directed to the governor, Fani-Kayode urged Mutfwang to prioritize restoring peace in Plateau State instead of focusing on him.
“Your constituents in Plateau State are being murdered, and you are preoccupied with crafting weak responses to me? Don’t you think you have more pressing issues to address?”
