Family, friends, and followers of Nollywood actor John Odonwodo, also known as Junior Pope, in tears as he is being laid to rest after passing away last month.
Pictures circulating on social media on May 17, 2024, show the actor's distraught wife, children, and loved ones attending the funeral service at St. Peter's Catholic Parish in Ukehe, Enugu State.
The actor's wife, dressed in black with their three sons, sobbed and was consoled by the smallest one.
Junior Pope was laid to rest in his hometown of Uwala Abaka, Ukehe, in Nsukka, Igboetiti Local Government Area, Enugu State.
On April 10, Pope died in a horrific boat accident that also killed four other people. Following their tragic demise, the AGN also suspended further work on the production of the film he was working on, The Other Side of Life, produced by Adamma Luke. The production of movies in riverine areas was also suspended indefinitely.
