Falz’s sister threatens legal action against VeryDarkMan over allegations

Folakemi Falana, the daughter of prominent human rights lawyer Femi Falana, has refuted bribery and corruption claims against her father, her brother, Nigerian artiste Falz, and popular socialite Bobrisky.

Folakemi spoke on the claims directly on her Instagram page, emphasising that her father had never met or talked with Bobrisky.

She went on to say that Bobrisky had approached Falz purely for financial aid during his incarceration, specifically to gain a more comfortable place in the VIP section of the prison.

She clarified that there had been no conversations about a presidential pardon.

To back up her assertions, Folakemi produced documents proving that Falana & Falana Chambers had offered free legal assistance to those seeking presidential pardons since 2016.

She emphasised that in Nigeria, every citizen has the right to obtain a pardon for a convicted person, and that her family's attempts to aid in such cases had been transparent and cost-free.

Folakemi also expressed concern with the proliferation of false stories, notably those suggesting Falz is homosexual or having an affair with Bobrisky.

She criticised some Nigerians' predisposition to believe unfounded allegations, encouraging the public to be more skeptical of the material they consume.

She wrote, “My Parents and our firm, Falana & Falana have been applying for presidential pardons for Nigerians FREE way before a lot of you were born or before you could talk. Slide 1 is from 2016 and Slide 2 is from 2022.

“It’s crazy that some Nigerians act like they can’t read or think for themselves. It’s unfortunate.

“It’s even crazier that all it takes is for a ridiculous character like VDM to accuse my dad and Falz of bribery, corruption and perversion of the course of Justice and you suddenly forget who they are and what they stand for. 

"For him to have the audacity to go as far as even accusing Falz of being homosexual and having an affair with Bobrisky is wild. The fact that some of you believe it, is what is blowing my mind."

Folakemi condemned the accusations as baseless and threatened legal action against the accuser, VeryDarkMan (VDM), saying, “Seeing as you have refused to do the needful, #verydarkblackman see you in court.”
