The fourth Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa, has been conferred with the traditional title of ‘Tafidan Jega’, by the Jega Emirate Council of Kebbi State.
While the former EFCC chairman was honoured with the ‘Tafidan Jega’ title, his uncle, Alhaji Ibrahim Yahaya Bawa, bagged the ‘Cigari Jega’ title.
In his brief remarks during "We, and the entire family, are assuring the monarch and the entire Emirate Council of our unwavering loyalty and deep respect,"
Bawa said at the ceremony, which coincided with his first public appearance since resigning from his position as the country's anti-graft chief.
Bawa thanked Alhaji Muhammadu Arzika, the Emir of Jega, for the honor bestowed upon him and his uncle.
The monarch earlier reminded the former EFCC helmsman of the courtesies expected of his traditional position while carrying out his responsibilities for the benefit of the Emirate Council's citizens.
