A Senior Advocate of Nigeria named Emeka Etiaba claimed that President Muhammadu Buhari’s order to Central Bank of Nigeria Governor Godwin Emefiele will put an end to the ongoing currency crisis three days after the Supreme Court’s ruling on the legality of the old Naira notes.
This was revealed by Emeka on Monday during an interview with Channels Television.
“The Federal Government has been directed by the Supreme Court, by inference its agency, in this case, the Central Bank of Nigeria.
It won’t take a week if President Muhammadu Buhari issues a statement or direction to the governor of the central bank, he claimed.
In the face of doubt among company owners, traders, and commercial banks regarding the Supreme Court’s ruling approving the usage of old N200, N500, and N1000 notes, the Central Bank of Nigeria has remained silent.
