Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has affirmed that his team is conscious of the threat posed by Crystal Palace.
However, the Dutch defender stressed the importance of finding ways to secure victories even when things are not going their way.
The Reds will be hosting Crystal Palace on Sunday, aiming to recover from their setback against Manchester United last weekend.
In his match programme notes, Van Dijk stated, "It has been four months since our last encounter with Crystal Palace in the Premier League, and I believe the time that has passed has only highlighted the significance of the result we achieved that day and the qualities we needed to display to earn it.
I mention this because in the upcoming days and weeks, it is inevitable that we will need to display those qualities again. Ideally, we would play fantastic football all the time – and that is our goal every time we take the field.
However, in a fiercely competitive league like this, and with numerous teams pursuing their own objectives, we must be prepared to overcome challenges."
"That's exactly what we did at Selhurst Park in December. Our performance was far from our best, to say the least, and I don't believe the first 70 minutes will be remembered by Liverpool supporters who were present or watching at home. Nevertheless, we found a way.
We achieved this by sticking together, believing in ourselves, persevering, demonstrating our commitment until the final whistle, and ultimately reaping the rewards."
