The Chief Executive Officer of Bullion Go-Neat Global Limited, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo has emphasized the crucial need for the Federal Government to establish and maintain a comprehensive data system to facilitate proper planning in the country. Speaking at the Bullion Go-Neat Global Limited New Year party in Bullion Park, Ibafo, Ogun State, Ajadi highlighted the hindrance that the lack of an adequate database poses to Nigeria's growth and development.
Ajadi expressed concern over the absence of accurate and up-to-date population data, citing the country's estimated population of about 200 million without recent census verification. He stressed that relying on guesswork hampers effective planning and urged the government to prioritize the establishment of a robust data infrastructure.
Furthermore, Ajadi called on the Federal Government to establish well-funded vocational centers in all 774 Local Government Areas across the nation. He suggested that these centers would cater to individuals who cannot pursue further education after secondary school but possess skills that could be honed as artisans.
Highlighting the potential positive impact of vocational centers, Ajadi asserted that such a move would not only provide valuable training opportunities but also address the issue of unemployed youth who often find themselves susceptible to criminal activities.
In his advice to the government, Ajadi recommended the provision of equipment to graduates from these vocational centers, enabling them to start their own businesses and contribute to economic growth. He emphasized that these centers could generate revenue through contracts with individuals and corporate organizations for services like furniture production.
In conclusion, Ajadi underscored the importance of these initiatives in steering young individuals away from crime and fostering a more skilled and productive workforce in the country.
