LAGOS, Nigeria (NAN) - In anticipation of the 2027 election, former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, visited former Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, and cleric Tunde Bakare in Lagos State, where they discussed the current economic and political climate of the nation.
El-Rufai’s meeting with these individuals occurred shortly after he met with former President, Muhammadu Buhari, in Kaduna.
Muyiwa Adekeye, El-Rufai’s media adviser, shared the details of the visit in a tweet on Sunday via his official social media account.
The former governor's trip to Lagos has sparked renewed discussions regarding his political future and potential strategic partnerships ahead of the 2027 elections.
Aregbesola, who served two terms as the governor of Osun State and was once an ally of President Bola Tinubu, has recently departed from the All Progressives Congress following an extended conflict within the party in Osun State.
Conversely, Bakare is recognized as a notable political figure and was a former presidential candidate under the APC.
