EFCC Docks Crossdresser Bobrisky for Naira Mutilation

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has confirmed the arrest of popular crossdresser, Idris Okuneye,  better known as Bobrisky. 

The EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, who confirmed the arrest, said that Crossdresser was arrested for money mutilation and Naira misuse.

He also stated that the online celebrity is at their Lagos facility and will be charged in court soon. 

In Dele Oyewale’s words: “He is with us." We arrested him over currency mutilation and abuse of Naira. He is in our facility in Lagos State.”
This comes just two days after police spokesperson Olumuyiwa Adejobi explained why Bobrisky, James Brown, and other cross-dressers cannot be detained. 

He added that it is a very difficult issue, noting that cross-dressing is not currently a serious offense in Nigeria, but being queer is. 

He stated that even if there are rumors that persons who cross-dress are also members of the LGBTQ community, there is no particular evidence to support that claim, so they cannot take them to court, and if they are, they would lose.
