The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has disassociated itself from a report circulating in some media outlets, claiming that it has released a full list of former governors being investigated for alleged corruption.
The agency stated that the report titled, “EFCC Releases Full List of 58 Ex-Governors that Embezzled N2.187 Trillion” is false and mischievous.
According to the Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the Commission did not issue the said list or discuss the investigation of ex-governors with any news medium.
The public is urged to disregard the report as it is misleading, and the media is advised to verify information with the Commission to avoid spreading false and inaccurate reports.
