*Oshiomhole Urges Electorate To Vote Out PDP
As the governorship election in Edo State draws near, the Peoples Democratic Party has intensified efforts in their campaigns ahead of September 21.
A party member disclosed that the party flagbearer, Asue Ighodalo, is expected to arrive Nigeria from the USA on Wednesday for the final round of the campaign.
He noted that the campaign, which is expected to end two days to the election, would begin in Edo North, move to Edo Central and then to Edo South where the campaign would come to an end.
He said, “Our candidate is coming back from the US and the final lap of the campaign will begin on August 29.
“To ensure victory, we are moving around the state one more time to talk to our supporters and other people about what we have for them if they give us their votes.
“The arrival of Ighodalo will re-energise the campaign and we will go to the nooks and crannies to sell our manifesto to our people.”
Meanwhile, the opposition All Progressives Congress, on Tuesday, took its campaign to Esan South-East Local Government Area of the state, with ex-governor Adams Oshiomhole, asking the people to vote out the PDP for allegedly neglecting Esanland.
“I felt for the people of Ewohimi and the environment that they didn’t have potable drinking water. Hence, I decided to provide water for them. I awarded a contract to provide water for the people by connecting the Ugbalo Water Project to Agadaga in Ewohimi.
"I awarded the contract to an Esan man, I paid 50 per cent of the contract, but the present government stopped it."
According to him, if the water project had been sustained, it would have connected the neighbouring communities around Ewohimi and made the people comfortable.
“We are here to solicit your votes for our candidate. Monday Okpebholo will not disappoint you people. I know since 2007, Ewohimi people have always voted for me, and this time around, don’t fail me,” he said.
On his part, the Director General of the APC Governorship Campaign Council, Matthew Urhoghide, appealed to the people to vote for APC on election day.
The governorship candidate of the party, Okpebholo, appealed to the people of Ewohimi to support and vote for him in the September 21 governorship election, adding that the party had solutions to the problems of the people.
