The iconic musician, Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, has rejected the rumors regarding his death, asserting that he is alive, robust, and in good health.
In a video released on Tuesday morning, Obey-Fabiyi debunked the claims with an energetic performance. Singing in Yoruba, English, and Pidgin, he labeled the news as untrue.
In the video, he sang, “Hello, my name is Professor Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi. Satan, you don lose o, Satan, you don lose o, you don pafuka. Na lie lie you dey talk, you don pafuka.”
The legendary musician further stated, “It is fake news that emerged a few hours ago claiming that I, Evangelist Obey, have passed away. It is a lie. I am alive, and this is not what Jesus has written.” The rumor of his death spread rapidly on Monday, leading to condolences from his fans.
However, his personal assistant, Tope Olukole, quickly refuted the rumor during an interview with TVC on Monday evening.
Olukole reassured the public that the music legend was in good health. “Let’s clarify: Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi is alive and thriving! He recently celebrated a joyful occasion, the 50th birthday of his second child’s spouse,” Olukole stated.
“The rumors of his death are unfounded and completely baseless. We are pleased to see him active and well,” he added.
This death hoax surfaced just a month after Obey-Fabiyi celebrated his 83rd birthday.
