Dubai - Etihad Airlines and Emirates Airlines are set to resume flight schedules into and out of Nigeria immediately.
This is a significant development for travellers between Nigeria and the UAE.
The UAE had previously imposed a visa ban on Nigerian travellers, but this ban has now been lifted after nearly a year.

The agreement was reached between President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria and his UAE counterpart, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
It is described as a historic agreement that aims to improve relations between the two countries.
As part of the agreement, there are plans for significant investments into the Nigerian economy by the investment arms of the UAE government,

These investments are expected to cover various sectors, including defense, agriculture, and others.
A joint foreign exchange liquidity program between the two governments is also mentioned, with more details to be provided in the coming weeks.
President Tinubu praised the UAE President for his commitment to improving relations and expressed gratitude for the efforts made to normalize and reset the standard of relations between the two countries.
The UAE had previously banned nationals from several African countries, including Nigeria, from entering Dubai.
