In an interview with Bounce Radio, Don Jazzy described a difficult time when he attempted to sell Mo'hit Records, the record company he co-founded with Afrobeats icon D'banj, for just one million naira.
When questioned about it, Don Jazzy acknowledged his unsuccessful attempt to sell the label to Nigerian music producer Obi Asika.
According to Don Jazzy, the attempts followed D'banj's record "Tongolo," which attracted much attention but didn't bring in the money they had hoped for.
The music executive had successfully sold a majority stake in his second label, Mavin Records, to global music giant Universal Music for $150 million..
