*Says 'I'm innocent, my sexual encounters were all voluntary'
American music executive and rapper, Sean 'Diddy' Combs, has made his third effort to be released from prison, claiming his innocence and that his sexual encounters were 'all voluntary'.
His legal team has submitted new filings stating that the music tycoon is 'not a menace to the community' while incarcerated on alleged racketeering and sex trafficking accusations.
Diddy denied any misconduct and pleaded not guilty to the criminal charges.
At a previous hearing, a federal court in New York refused Diddy's bail because he allegedly attempted to contact witnesses.
In the appeal filed on Wednesday (today), Diddy's attorneys stated that he contacted a potential witness with the permission of the person's attorney.
Diddy's attorneys also claimed that multiple witnesses called Diddy, not the other way around.
The appeal named an anonymous victim, but based on the details, the victim is Cassie, as the video was leaked shortly after she resolved the case.
Diddy's legal team stated in the bail application that their client was not a flight risk, despite what prosecutors have claimed.
He also agreed not to contact any other witnesses but to undertake weekly drug tests.
In the appeal, Diddy's team claimed that the case had been 'sensationalized'.
They also said that Diddy had demonstrated his willingness to comply by surrendering his passport, selling his private plane, and offering up his $48 million property to secure bail.
The 54-year-old music entrepreneur is currently in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Centre in Brooklyn, New York, after being charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution earlier this month.
An attorney said he was representing 120 people who had filed sexual misconduct complaints against the hip-hop entrepreneur.
Tony Buzbee, a Houston attorney, said he anticipated lawsuits to be filed within the next month, with the majority in New York and Los Angeles.
