Dean Henderson Dumps Man Utd, Signs Deal With Another Premier League Club

POSTED ON August 31, 2023 •   Football      BY Ugwuagwu John

English Premier League club Crystal Palace announced Dean Henderson's signing from Old Trafford outfit Manchester United.

The Eagles confirmed that the former Red Devil has signed a five-year deal with the club until the summer of 2028. It was gathered that Palace will pay the sum of £20 million ($25 million) to Manchester United in addition to add-ons. Henderson had been on six loan moves in the past eight seasons, and many believe the 26-year-old England international will finally find a home at Selhurst Park in London under experienced boss Roy Hodgson. This puts an end to a 12-year spell with the Old Trafford club, and he is excited to open a new chapter in the English Premier League. The shot-stopper had been with the Red Devils since age 14, but could not break into the first team as the first-choice goalkeeper, going on loan spells to Stockport, Grimsby, Shrewsbury and Sheffield United, as well as Forest. Henderson said, as per GOAL: “I’m absolutely delighted and buzzing to be here. I can’t wait to get started. This club has got great fans and has a lot of top players who are hungry to succeed. There’s something being built here, and I really want to be a part of it." https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1697315332409475574 He could be in line for his Palace debut in their home clash with Wolves in the Premier League on Sunday. Last season, another ex-United goalkeeper, Sam Johnstone, started the season in goal for Palace and the 30-year-old was named in the latest England squad on Thursday. Rocket Parrot earlier reported that Brighton & Hove Albion stunned the football world by securing the loan services of Barcelona prodigy Ansu Fati. The Seagulls will have the 20-year-old forward, who is considered one of the top young prospects in the world, on their team until June 2024.
