Popular Afrobeats singer, Davido discloses his father's reaction to his Grammy defeat.
Speaking about his journey to stardom during his latest interview with Rolling Stone, the Grammy nominee stated that despite the loss his father told him that he remains a legend.
Davido also claimed that being nominated for the recently finished 66th Grammy Awards was enough to make him proud of himself.
The singer was nominated for Global Music Album - Timeless, Global Music Performance - Feel, and Best African Music Performance - Unavailable.
Recall that the first-time Grammy nominee lost all three categories at the just-finished 66th Record Academy Awards, which were hosted at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Davido said:“Being nominated alone is enough to make me proud of myself. I just want my song to be heard on the radio once or twice in the beginning, but for it to transcend to this is just amazing and God’s doing.
“I was on the phone with my dad yesterday and he was like ‘Son no matter what happens, you are still a legend’. So yeah, he is a big fan.”
