Bola Tinubu cannot be sworn in as president of the nation, according to Yusuf Datti Baba Ahmed, vice presidential candidate for the Labour Party in the recently ended February 25 elections.
Datti stated that swearing in Tinubu would be "as good as swearing in military government" in an interview with Arise TV on Wednesday.
The vice presidential candidate claims that a constitutional violation occurred during the presidential election that resulted in Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, being elected president.
Datti asserted that the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) certificate of return given to the former governor of Lagos has no significance.
"We cannot elect a president when there has been a constitutional violation, he declared. Both INEC's interpretation of Section 134 and the interpretation of Section 134 are quite clear.
"Asiwaju Tinubu is not the president-elect; rather, he is in possession of a worthless certificate.
"To swear in Tinubu is to swear in a military administration; to swear in Tinubu is to assault the constitution."
