Dangote Leads 2024 Forbes List Of Africa's Richest Men

Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, maintains his status as the wealthiest individual in Africa, securing the top position in the recently released 2024 Forbes list of 20 of Africa’s Richest billionaires. With a net worth of $13.9 billion, Dangote continues to lead the ranking, showcasing his enduring influence in the continent's economic landscape.

Forbes noted a slight rebound in the fortunes of Africa's wealthiest individuals over the past 12 months, signaling a reversal of the decline witnessed in the previous year. While still below their all-time highs, the combined net worth of the 20 billionaires featured in the 2024 list reached $82.4 billion, reflecting a modest increase of $900 million from the previous year's total of $81.5 billion.

Among the notable figures in the list is Femi Otedola, the Executive Chairman of Geregu Power Plc and a Non-Executive Director of FBN Holdings. Otedola secures the 19th position on the list, with a net worth of $1.1 billion, reaffirming his standing as one of Africa's prominent business figures.
