Patrick Vieira has been fired as the first-team coach of Crystal Palace, the club has announced.
The decision was made following a poor stretch of play for the Eagles in 2023, who had lost all 12 of their games since the new year.
"It is with great regret that this tough decision has been made," according to a statement from club chairman Steve Parish on the club website.
"We believed a change was required to offer us the best chance of maintaining our Premier League status since, ultimately, recent results have put us in a dangerous league position.
That being said, Patrick has had a big influence since joining us in the summer of 2021, and I, along with all of his colleagues, have nothing but the utmost esteem for him.
'He guided the team to an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley and a solid 12th place finish last season playing some attractive football, which was a difficult and important campaign for the club given the changes we made to the squad before his arrival.
"We all congratulate Patrick and his colleagues for their dedication. Patrick has given his all to the club."
Osian Roberts, Kristian Wilson, and Sad Agoun, members of Vieira's coaching team, were also confirmed to have left the football club.
The process to name a new manager is already ongoing, according to the club's statement.
