Nigerian crossdresser and social media personality, Bobrisky has been released from detention after nearly three weeks in custody due to unresolved legal hurdles.
The release comes after a dramatic period, which included his claimed attempt to flee the nation over the Seme border.
During his arrest, fans and followers were left to speculate as updates on his position were limited.
Following his release, Bobrisky took to social media to reveal a new look and deliver a strong message about courage and resilience.
In his Instagram post, Bobrisky stressed the characteristics that identify strong women, adding that resilience entails confronting obstacles head on without turning to self-pity or blame.
He wrote: Strong women don’t play the victim. They don’t make themselves look pitiful and don’t point fingers. They stand and they deal.”
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has provided information about the recent arrest of prominent crossdresser and social media influencer Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky.
Following widespread speculation, the NIS has confirmed that Bobrisky was apprehended while attempting to depart Nigeria at the Seme border.
In a statement released by the NIS, Service Public Relations Officer (SPRO) Deputy Comptroller of Immigration (DCI) Kenneth Udo stated that Bobrisky's detention on Monday is related to current legal investigations.
He emphasized that Bobrisky has been labeled as a "person of interest," prompting officials to constantly watch his travels.
