Social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, was ordered by a high court in Ikeja, Lagos State, on Tuesday to remove disparaging recordings against human rights attorney Femi Falana, SAN.
Additionally, the court mandated that the critic refrain from mentioning the Falanas in the future. According to reports, the court also ordered VeryDarkMan to compensate the Falanas with N500 million.
This comes after Falana disclosed that he is restraining himself from bringing a criminal complaint against VeryDarkMan for reportedly helping to secure a pardon for Idris Okuneye, better known by his stage name Bobrisky, who is a transgender person.
Recall that on September 24, 2024, VeryDarkMan released an audio phone call in which Bobrisky described how musician Falz reached out to him while serving a six-month jail sentence.
The SAN, Falana had told Channels Television's Politics on that he had never done business with Bobrisky. According to him, the crossdresser communicated with his son, Folarin Falana, aka Falz.
However, VeryDarkMan, who testified before the House of Representatives Joint Committee on Financial Crimes and Reformatory Institutions on Monday, apologised to Falana for his recent harsh remarks against him.
He said: "“Please, if you are going to call me next time, you either go through the superintendent or you write a letter endorsed by the prison authorities and that was the last.
“Somebody now started releasing tapes somewhere and went out to lampoon and rather defame me by saying the guy has spoken to me.
