Azeez Fashola, better known by his stage name Naira Marley, and Lagos socialite Balogun Eletu, better known by his stage name Sam Larry, have been granted bail in the amount of N20 million by a Magistrate's Court in Yaba, Lagos State.
Additionally, they had to provide three credible sureties.
Remember On October 6, Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and two other people were charged and placed under remand over the circumstances surrounding the death of musician Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Aloba.
The defendants were instructed by magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun to turn in their passports and to appear every week at the State Criminal Investigation Department, or SCID, in Panti.
The magistrate in charge of the case issued a special caution, stating emphatically that any attempt to get in touch with her would be noted and would even be revealed during public court sessions.
“As part of the bail conditions, the defendants are to surrender their passports and make weekly appearances at the State Criminal Investigation Department.
“Any attempts to contact me directly would be recorded and potentially disclosed in open court proceedings,” Olatunbosun said.
After being connected to the passing of musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, the pair were detained upon their return to Nigeria.
Videos surfaced on social media depicting Sam Larry brutally abusing Mobad, while other videos showed boys allegedly acting on Naira Marley's orders and hitting the late artist.
