The Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria, has inducted 55 graduates of the Medical Laboratory Science of Babcock University, Ilishan Remo, Ogun State.
The council however urged them to remain worthy ambassador of the professional practice and the institution.
In a statement by the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof Ademola Tayo, said this during the induction ceremony held at the 600-seater auditorium of the university.
The vice-chancellor told them that their oath was not just a promise to uphold the standards of their profession but also a commitment to continually strive for excellence, integrity, and compassion in all their efforts to make the world a better place for all.
He said, “As you take your oath, remember that this is not just a promise to uphold the standards of your profession but also a commitment to continually strive for excellence, integrity and compassion in all your actions.
“You must also do your best to remain worthy ambassadors of your highly cherished profession and this university that has nurtured you all these years to be the very best in life.”
In his keynote address, Prof. Festus Olajubu of the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo State, who spoke on “Empowering Personal, Public and Global Health through Diagnostic Medicine,” stressed the critical role of medical laboratory scientists in healthcare delivery and the importance of diagnostic medicine in shaping public and global health outcomes.
Olajubu reminded the inductees of the need to uphold the ethics of the profession as well as set achievable goals for a rewarding career.
